The Midterm Meeting of SAAP4FUTURE partners was held on September 04 and 05 in Ahtopol. More than
20 representatives of both partners discussed the progress of the project activities, the issues
related to the upcoming tasks and indicators of the project monitoring. The meeting agenda can be downloaded

Activity 3 on joint assessment of air pollution status in the cross-border region was successfully
accomplished within deadline, a summary of submitted reports will be published on the project website next month.
The field campaigns for collection of samples and their chemical analysis (Activity 6 and Activity 7)
are being implemented successfully. The participants in the Midterm meeting visited the NIMH Observatory
of Ahtopol, one of the four sampling sites. This observatory conducts unique for Bulgaria measurements
in meteorology. Currently reconstruction activities are in progress for complete renovation of the existing
buildings. The visitors were introduced to the installed operative instrumentation and to the future prospects
future activities at the observatory. Particular attention was paid to the automatic dry and wet only
precipitation sampler WADOS, purchased with funds from the project.
Results from the Activity 5 (numerical modeling of air pollution) have been prepared for presentation
of Harmo16 conference which took place in Varna, September 8 – 12
(http://www.harmo16.org/).
The participants of the meeting discussed the organization of the Joint Scientific Conference in the
second half of November in Burgas where the results from the chemical analysis will be reported.
