National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology - Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (NIMH – BAS)
The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences
is public non-profit organisation with more than 120 years of history.
NIMH-BAS is the chief executive of research and operational activities in Meteorology,
Agrometeorology and Hydrology in Bulgaria. The primary mission of the NIMH-BAS is to
provide meteorological and hydrological information and services to different organisations
and users in Bulgaria, covering the territory of the country and the Black Sea.
Meteorological and hydrological observations, data acquisition and
telecommunication, monitoring of chemical components in the air, land and groundwater,
meteorological, hydrological and marine forecasts, study of climate and water resources,
study and forecasting of atmospheric and hydrospheric composition and its variations of
natural and anthropogenic origin, maintenance of database and data exchange, and many
other tasks are part of the NIMH-BAS duties of operational, methodological or applied research character.
Core elements in the structure of NIMH-BAS are the headquarters in
Sofia and the four Regional Centers managing 28 observatories at national level with more
than 1000 observation stations. The permanent staff consists of 700 full time employees,
of which 83 highly qualified researchers.
As Lead Partner in SAAP4FUTURE, NIMH-BAS is responsible for the
implementation of the project and the achievement of its goals. It participates mainly through
the hydro-meteorological observatory in Burgas, the synoptic station and the experimental
observatory in Ahtopol. NIMH-BAS will be engaged in carrying out the field campaigns, in
numerical modeling activities and combined evaluation of sampling’s data, as well as in the
dissemination and publicity events taking place in the region of Burgas.
CHAMBER OF AGRICULTURE
Chambers of Agriculture and Union of Turkish Chamber of Agriculture were established
pursuant to the Act on Chambers of Agriculture and Association of the Chambers of Agriculture
No. 6964, dated 15.5.1957. The organization and operation principles of Chambers of Agriculture
are defined in Law no. 6964 on “Chambers of Agriculture and Union of Chambers of Agriculture”
and in the bylaw based on the same law.
According to the records kept in the union, The Kırklareli Chamber of
Agriculture was established in 1967 and the last meeting of the general assembly of the Chamber
was held in February 2011.
According to the relevant provisions prescribed by the Law, Agricultural
Chambers are incorporated occupational organizations in the form of public institutions established
to provide common needs and facilitate professional activities of farmers, develop agricultural
sector in favor of general interests, prevail fairness and reliance among farmers, preserve
business discipline and ethics, and protect farmers’ rights and benefits.
As a Partner in SAAP4FUTURE, The Kırklareli Chamber of Agriculture is
responsible for the implementation of the project acticities in Kırklareli and the achievement
of its goals. The Kırklareli Chamber of Agriculture will carry out the field campaigns, in
numerical modeling activities and combined evaluation of sampling’s data in Kırklareli.
