SAAP4FUTURE – „Joint Study of Anthropogenic Air Pollution in the Burgas - Kirklareli cross-border area as a step towards Future assessments on its impact on the population and the environment” is collaboration project funded under the 3rd call of the Bulgaria-Turkey IPA Cross Border Programme. The latter has been designed under the objectives of the cross-border cooperation of the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance of the European Union.
The overall goal is to raise public awareness on air pollution status and its effect on the ecological, cultural and historical heritage, as well as on the agricultural lands in the target area (District of Burgas-Province of Kirklareli), based on sound scientific ground. The project promotes the establishment of collaboration contacts among researchers of both countries as a first step towards future more comprehensive joint studies on adverse effects of economic activities and anthropogenic pressure on the key strength elements of the cooperation area - ecosystems, natural reserves, agricultural lands, tourism, historical and cultural heritages.
